You have been examining primary resources (Herodotus, Pericles, Machiavelli) and discussing the purpose of government. Now you are studying the different forms of government, focusing on: anarchy, autocracy, oligarchy, and democracy. Your specific assignment is:
My Government is the BEST!
You need to convince the class that your form of government (as assigned) is the best form. To do this you need to:
1. Determine the pros and cons for your form of government.
2. Identify the cons for each of the other forms.
3. Research places that your form of government has been used and successful.
4. Make a presentation to the class to persuade them that your form of government is the best, including:
a. 30 second commercial spot
b. 2 minute speech
c. At least 2 visuals
You will be assessed on a review of each of 1 -4 above:
1. Accuracy
2. Depth of consideration of pros/cons
3. Persuasiveness (including focusing on positives of your gov’t, not negatives of others (this, if included, needs to be subtle!)
4. Neatness/grammar/presentation skills
5. Organization
6. Your contribution to your group
